About Operation Stand Down RI
Operation Stand Down Rhode Island (OSDRI) is a non-profit organization helping at-risk and homeless veterans since 1993. Their mission is to provide the necessary resources and assistance to strengthen the veteran community. Headquartered in Johnston, RI, OSDRI provides essential integrated services to veterans in Rhode Island. They offer a range of services, including:
- Employment and training to eradicate barriers and help veterans re-enter the workforce.
- Permanent supportive, transitional, and recovery housing assistance to low-income and disabled veterans.
- Legal aid which provides pro-bono representation to qualified RI veterans for issues such as evictions, disability, and social security.
- Basic human needs from the food pantry and personal hygiene program, stocked with non-perishables from the community.
The team at OSDRI has over 215 years of combined military experience and is committed to the mission of “Veterans Serving Veterans.” Over the years, OSDRI has helped hundreds of veterans get back on their feet and transition to civilian life. Their success stories include veterans who have found stable housing, secured employment, and rebuilt their lives.
Donation to Operation Stand Down RI
This year, our team at Beacon Design had the pleasure of working with OSDRI again and collected a generous amount of donations for their food pantry and personal hygiene program. In total, the team collected seven large boxes of donations ranging from soaps, shampoos, and feminine products to pasta and canned goods.
Our Sales and Marketing Team traveled to OSDRI’s headquarters to drop off the donations and volunteered their time. They helped OSDRI re-organize the pantry by removing expired goods, replenishing the shelves, and using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method. This ensures that veterans who come in for essentials have access to fresh products and peace of mind.

Beacon Design collaborates with numerous non-profit organizations nationwide to help them raise funds through custom ornament sales and annual programs. As a veteran-founded company, we hold non-profit organizations such as OSDRI close to our hearts. They tirelessly work to assist veterans in need.
