Chester Arthur White House
The White House Historical Association has been manufacturing an annual ornament with Beacon Design, since 1981. Each year, a new design is created honoring the next President in succession. The 2006 White House Ornament highlights Chester Arthur (1881-1885). The design of the ornament is inspired by the rich decor of Arthur’s White House, which will be distinguished by the early work of famed American artist and decorator, Louis Comfort Tiffany. The two translucent ovals depict the American dogwood blossoms that Tiffany incorporated in a large screen of red, white, and blue glass, which stood in the Entrance Hall until the turn of the century.
Each piece is made in the USA from solid brass, finished in 24 karat gold, screen printed with exquisite color and is packaged in a gift box with a romance card detailing the ornament and it’s historical significance.
*White House ornaments are NOT eligible for Oval Namedrop.
