2013 Woodrow Wilson
The White House Historical Association has been manufacturing an annual ornament with Beacon Design since 1981. Each year, a new design is created honoring the next President in succession. The 2013 White House Ornament highlights Woodrow Wilson (1913-1921) who was an eternal optimist with a desire for lasting world peace. The centerpiece of the ornament is an American elm tree planted by President Wilson on the North Lawn of the White House on December 18, 1913. The words on the reverse side of the ornament were delivered by President Wilson in his War Message to Congress of April 2, 1917: “Peace must be planted upon the tested foundations of political liberty.
Each piece is made in the USA from solid brass, finished in 24 karat gold, screen printed with exquisite color and is packaged in a gift box with a romance card detailing the ornament and it’s historical significance.
*White House ornaments are NOT eligible for Oval Namedrop.
