Theodore Roosevelt White House Christmas
The White House Historical Association has been manufacturing an annual ornament with Beacon Design, since 1981. Each year, a new design is created honoring the next President in succession. The 2011 White House Ornament highlights Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909) and celebrates his young family in the White House. The front of the ornament is an illustration derived from a political cartoon by William A. Rogers, which captures the anticipation on the family’s first Christmas in the White House. As jolly Santa Claus crosses the North Lawn with a bag of toys over his shoulder, he announces, “I hear that there are some kids in the White House this year.”
Each piece is made in the USA from solid brass, finished in 24 karat gold, screen printed with exquisite color and is packaged in a gift box with a romance card detailing the ornament and its historical significance.
*White House ornaments are NOT eligible for Oval Namedrop.
