Ulysses S Grant White House Christmas

The White House Historical Association has been manufacturing an annual ornament with Beacon Design, since 1981. Each year, a new design is created honoring the next President in succession. The 2003 White House Ornament highlights Ulysses S. Grant (1869-1877). The ornament includes a hand-painted porcelain figure as it’s centerpiece, inspired by an authentic Victorian illustration of a child’s joy at Christmas. The wreath surrounding the figure includes toys available at Washington’s fancy goods stores during the Grant administration along with a steam locomotive that swings below.

Each piece is made in the USA from solid brass, finished in 24 karat gold, screen printed with exquisite color and is packaged in a gift box with a romance card detailing the ornament and it’s historical significance.
