The White House Historical Association (WHHA) is one of our greatest success stories, selling over a million ornaments annually! It is the largest running ornament program of its kind in the United States and its largest fundraiser. The White House Historical Association is a private non-profit organization, founded in 1961 by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, with a mission to protect, preserve and provide public access to the rich history of America’s Executive Mansion.
Since the beginning of their annual ornament program in 1981, a new design is released each year highlighting the accomplishments of the administration the ornament is based on. The Angel in Flight was the first in the series, followed by the first President of the United States, George Washington, which featured a miniature replica of the dove of peace weathervane that Washington commissioned for his home at Mount Vernon. After Washington, came each President in chronological order with the only change to that order being the commemoration of major milestones.
